Catherine had visited Calvert Trust Exmoor twice and, despite her needs, has loved every moment. The latest visit, in March 2019, was no exception.
Catherine is usually resident in a care home, but her parents came along as her carers during the long-weekend stay. This allowed the family to spend valuable time together taking part in the outdoor activities in an inclusive environment.
They rated all the activities highly, but for Catherine abseiling had the edge as the favourite.
Catherine’s father Tony said, “Catherine thoroughly enjoyed her visit to Calvert Trust Exmoor. What you have at the Trust is a very warm welcome, a place where nothing is out of the ordinary and where people regardless of any disability are treated by all as equals and with respect.”
The family’s instructor also came in for special praise from Tony: “Our instructor, Rachel, is a credit to your organisation. The care and attention she showed to her guests was outstanding. We had total confidence in her capability and in the equipment used.”
