Individual (and carer) breaks

Whether you're visiting solo or with a carer, discover the inclusive adventure of tailored activities and enriching experiences at Calvert Exmoor...

Finding somewhere accessible to go on a solo* adventure that will keep you safe but also engaged could be a challenge, with some trips involving watching from the side or missing out altogether – but not at Calvert Exmoor.

We all want you to have an experience that’s fun, stimulating and full of great memories – and we truly believe that everyone should take part no matter what; age and ability isn’t a barrier.

Our specialist equipment and accessible facilities enable everyone to enjoy adventure activities together regardless of past experience or perceived barriers.

Expect a full programme of activities for all to enjoy, accommodation around the beautiful courtyard, quality meals, specialist accessible equipment if required, dedicated staff and use of all on-site facilities including the swimming pool.

Come for a three, four or seven night break and be sure of a warm welcome and an opportunity to have a go at everything…

*Please note: We do not offer care services at Calvert Exmoor. If your needs require it, you will need to source, organise and bring carers with you. We strive for carers and care users to enjoy the break together, side by side. Due to the fact that carers are a part of the break and will need to be on hand at all times, including during activities (which they will also take part in), the full tariff price will need to be paid, for their attendance.

If you’d like to talk with a friendly person about a school residential, please don’t hesitate to call and we’ll be happy to help.

The benefits of visiting Calvert Exmoor

We see it time and time again, taking part in adventure activities improves communication, personal skills, belief in each other and creates magically personal moments and connections that mean the world to individuals.

Calvert breaks provide an equal opportunity to talk and bond whilst meeting new people and sharing experiences. A stay with us means enjoying adventurous fun while also mixing with other people in a safe and supportive environment.

The sense of achievement can also provide a huge boost of confidence and self-esteem to people with disabilities and has a positive effect on their lives beyond their stay.

We look forward to welcoming you here to enjoy ‘the Calvert Exmoor Experience’ with us.

We have been coming to Calvert, on and off, for at least 15 years. Susan came here with her day centre and she so enjoyed it, so that's when we started to come back independently. She's my sister and I'm her carer. We come back to Calvert time after time because it brings so much joy to Susan and it enables her to do things that we didn't think were possible. When we came to Calvert today, I just felt a warm and cosy and loved glow…
