Chris Gregson, Chair of the Board of Trustees, says:
“The first big step for the future of the centre is to have a refreshed and condensed Trustee Board of relevant industry experts, to lead the way moving forward. We are recruiting and approaching those we believe have the skills and mindsets needed.
Jamie has key experience with managing and growing one of the United Kingdom’s largest and most successful holiday booking companies. Meanwhile Glyn has run expeditions all over the world, leading trips for individuals with limited mobility, including facilitating a quadriplegic man to kayak 100 miles through Greenland’s iceberg laden fjords to arrive at the polar ice cap.
Together they bring renewed ability to analyse and balance Calvert Exmoor’s operational needs against the commercial pressures that now exist in the outdoor leisure environment. They have a strong set of core values that will help to ensure the best possible experience for our staff and guests.
I would like to add that the process of changing and recruiting Trustees is ongoing, but having Jamie and Glyn on the Board from this point is a fantastic start. From myself and all the Calvert Exmoor team, I would like to offer them my personal thanks for joining. This thank you also extends to the individuals and businesses who continues to support us and our guests in whatever way possible.”
