Facilities on site
Our specialist facilities are all together on one tranquil, accessible site, including riding stables and swimming pool. There’s also The Barn bar and games room where you can enjoy free evening entertainment, a TV lounge, wheelchair charging room, and sensory room. Also included in the cost, guests can enjoy their meals in our conservatory and dining room or outside in our beautiful courtyard garden.
Our accommodation is accessible for people with cerebral palsy, offering en-suite, level-entry wet room facilities with grab bars, and accessible bathrooms are also available. Throughout the building we have widened doors and corridors, electric doors and lifts to the upper floors to help those with reduced mobility. All rooms are fitted with Menvicall alarms linked to reception during the day and to the duty instructor in the evenings.
In addition, we have a wide range of specialist equipment for our visitors, that can be reserved prior to visiting, including:
- Electric and manual hoists
- Shower chairs
- Over bed pole hoist
- Commodes
- Profiling beds available in some rooms
- Bed blocks
- Mattress elevators
- Cot sides
Activities to do
One morning, you might enjoy an exhilarating cycle ride around Wistlandpound Reservoir with the rest of your party on one of our fleet of adapted bikes (which includes hand cycles, recumbent bikes, side-by-side tandems and wheelchair front-loaders). Then later, you might spend some time in our stables, on the back of a horse (with the help of our riding school hoist facilities if required) or driving a horse-drawn carriage. The next day, you could be shooting some archery (we have archer’s bow supports if required), whizzing down the zip wire, or canoeing around the lake. There is a fully accessible activity trail which runs around the reservoir, and if you are a chair user you can even abseil our outdoor climbing wall in a wheelchair!
