Calvert Trust Exmoor provides a welcoming, pressure-free environment where everyone is included and catered for regardless of age or ability. From our comfortable 5-star facilities to our specially trained activities staff, we’ve thought of everything so all you have to do is enjoy yourself!
All of our accommodation and facilities are sited together on a fully-accessible Victorian farm complex in the heart of the Devon countryside. So, after a day of activities, you won’t have to go very far to unwind in the swimming pool and Jacuzzi or take in stunning views from the comfort of the Acland Room. We provide free evening entertainment in the bar and games room, and there’s also a TV lounge with a selection of toys, games and DVDs. Three freshly-prepared meals a day can be enjoyed in our conservatory and dining room or outside in our beautiful courtyard garden – and they’re all included in the cost of your stay.
Our accommodation is designed with your needs in mind, offering en-suite, level-entry wet room facilities with grab bars, and lifts to the upper floors to help those living with pain and mobility difficulties. In addition, we have profiling beds available in some rooms, and equipment such as shower chairs and mattress elevators available to borrow. Please ask at the time of booking.
Activities to do
We run a number of low-impact adventure activities, including cycling, sailing, archery, abseiling and horse-drawn carriage driving. Our fleet of bikes includes hand cycles, recumbent bikes, side-by-side tandems and wheelchair front-loaders, which means anyone can enjoy a cycle around our picturesque Wistlandpound Reservoir, regardless of mobility or condition. You might spend some time in our stables, on the back of a horse with the help of our riding instructors, or driving a horse-drawn carriage. The next day, you could be shooting some archery, climbing our rock wall or sailing around the lake. Or, how about learning bushcrafts and toasting marshmallows around the campfire in our beautiful woodland?
